In the first five months of 2014, the southern province of Binh Duong enjoyed a trade surplus of nearly 1 billion USD.
According to the provincial Statistics Office, during the January-May period, the locality’s export turnover saw a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent to reach more than 5.3 billion USD, of which 4.469 billion USD came from the foreign-invested sector.
High growth rate continued to be recorded in Binh Duong’s main exports, including garment and textiles (700.9 million USD, 18.2 percent), mobile phones and components (450.9 million USD, 70.8 percent) and footwear (440 million USD, 12.5 percent).
Meanwhile, in the period the province spent 4.39 billion USD on importing goods, up 7.6 percent from the same period last year.-VNA
