The People’s Committee of southern Binh Duong province on March 25 granted an investment license to Maruzen Foods Corporation of Japan to build a 100 million USD factory in My Phuoc Industrial Park.
Covering an area of nearly 130,000 square metres, the factory, the fifth built by the Japanese corporation globally, plans a trial run in January, 2014 before officially operating in April.
Once operating, the factory is capable of producing 150 tonnes of beverage materials, 2.5 million packages of bottled beverages like coffee, tea, and fruit juice, and 100 tonnes of canned foods, annually.
On the occasion, Maruzen Foods General Director Yasufumi Kasuga described Vietnam as a promising market and lauded southern Binh Duong province’s open investment environment and well-developed infrastructure.
