Binh Thuan: eight suspects detained for investigation of social disturbance

Binh Thuan (VNA) – The Binh Thuan Investigation Police Agency decided to launch legal proceedings against and detain eight suspects for investigation of their allegedly involvement in social disturbance, property destruction and resisting on-duty officers.

According to the provincial police spokesperson Colonel Nguyen Van Nhieu, the eight suspects directly joined in activities disturbing social order and destroy properties at Phan Ri Cua town in Tuy Phong district, and Phan Ri Thanh town in Bac Binh district on June 10-11.

The Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province has signed a decision designating temporary restricted areas and sites at the headquarters of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee.

The decision bans the intrusion into and the use of devices such as camera, mobile phone, tablet and flycam to take photo or video clips or draw maps of the restricted areas, except for authorized forces on duty and those who have permission from the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee.

It also prohibits the obstruction of normal activities of the People’s Council and People’s Committee, the disturbance of security and order at the restricted areas, and the incitement of others to cause disorder.

Under the decision, weapons, explosives and flammable or poisonous materials are not allowed to be brought into the areas without prior permission of the People’s Council and People’s Committee.

Violators will be subject to administrative punishments under Decree 167/2013/ND-CP dated November 12, 2013, or be handled according to the Criminal Code.-VNA
