Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City has been chosen by CNN website as one of the world’s 25 great skyscrapers.

The building was designed to represent Vietnam’s national flower the lotus and the 262-metre skyscraper is meant to characterise the beauty and growth of the city below.

It has a helipad on the 52nd floor that just out 22 metres. The Bitexco Financial Tower may no longer be the tallest building in Vietnam - that honor goes to Hanoi’s Keangnam Landmark - but it is still a standout feature of HCM City’s skyline.

It is ambitious and in your face, much likes its host city. This comes as no surprise, given it was designed by award-winning Ecuadorian architect Carlos Zapata. There’s an abstraction deck on the 47th floor, the Saigon Skydeck, where visitors get a 360 degree view of the metropolis.-VNA
