Bangkok (VNA) - Thousands of people have been evacuated after an explosion near Thailand's international airport left one dead and another 29 injured, officials said.

The explosion occurred about 2.50am at the Ming Dih Chemical factory in Soi King Kaew 21 at Moo 15 village in tambon Rachathewa, according to Bangkok Post.

There are five or six warehouses in the factory compound, where 50 tonnes of chemicals were reported to be stored.

Local disaster authorities said 70 houses were damaged.

The cause of the blast had yet to be determined./.
