A bomb exploded on early December 14 outside the house of the mayor of the southern Philippine city of Isabela, according to Xinhua news agency.
The agency cited sources from the local military as saying that no injury or death was reported so far but the explosion had caused a panic among local resident, adding that another bomb was discovered a few metres away from the mayor's house but was safely defused by the police and military explosive disposal personnel.
Police said no one has claimed responsibility for the attack but they suspected the bomb attack could be the work of the Abu Sayyaf group.-VNA
