A famous book recounting the first official visit to the Soviet Union by late President Ho Chi Minh in 1955 has been translated into Russian and was officially presented to Russia on June 30.

The donation of the book, titled ‘The first Vietnamese in the Kremlin’ marked the 90 th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh’s first visit to the Soviet Union in 1923.

The book introduces many fascinating stories about the President’s visit and his future activities in the country.

The Vietnamese original was written by Vu Ky, the long-term secretary of Ho Chi Minh and later the Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum. It was first published in Vietnam in 1987.

Evghenhy Pavlovic Glazunov, the Honorary Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association, translated the book into Russian with the support of the Association of Vietnamese overseas in the Russian Federation.

He once served as the interpreter to Ho Chi Minh when working at the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.

Glazunov spent a long time carefully translating the book and making sure to accurately reflect the late President’s affection for the country and people of the Soviet Union.

The book is expected to educate young Russians about Ho Chi Minh’s life and work and Vietnamese history.-VNA
