Book on Soviet Union/ Russia-VN ties

RVFA and Russia's Institute of Orient Studies have presented a book titled “Soviet Union/ Russia – VN: Cooperative Milestones”.
The Russia – Vietnam Friendship Association and the Institute of OrientStudies under the Russian Academy of Sciences recently have presented abook titled “Soviet Union/ Russia – Vietnam: Cooperative Milestones”.

The book, which was written by two well-knownRussian experts in Vietnamese studies, Anatoly Voronin and EvghenyKobelev, reviews the most memorable periods in the history of thefriendly cooperative relations as well as the comprehensive strategicpartnership between the Soviet Union/Russia and Vietnam .

The 224-page book with numerous photos, praises the Vietnamese armyand people’s brilliant feat of arms in the process of national buildingand defence with the assistance of many countries in the world,especially the Soviet Union and Russia .

Ithighlights the role and great contributions of the previous and presentSoviet/Russian and Vietnamese leaders to developing and furtherstrengthening the relations in all fields between Russia and Vietnam.

The book also pays tribute to diplomats,scholars and Russian experts, who made every effort to promote thecooperative friendship and strategic partnership between the SovietUnion/Russia and Vietnam. /.

Rare green sea turtle released back into the wild in Quang Tri

The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), locally known as vich, is a rare and protected species under Vietnamese law. It is also listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a species of conservation concern and is included in the appendices of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
