From the earlier days of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the border guard force was on the frontline preventing the disease from entering Vietnam.

Across all borderlines, border soldiers were on guard every day to stop anyone from enter the country without medical check and get violators to isolation centers. While doing this mission, they faced with numerous hardships and disadvantages.

They had to stay in a place far away from home, unable to return home even when there were important event in their family. Dozens of soldiers had to postpone their marriages to fulfill the mission. Everyone had to leave their personal problems aside to guard the borderline. They had to check every trail and every opening to prevent the disease.

According to The Border Guard Force High Command, there were 1,573 COVID-19 checkpoints on 3 main borderlines with 9,253 personnel./.
