Brothers Luu Hong Quang and Luu Duc Anh, students from the Vietnam National Conservatory of Music, triumphed at two international piano competitions held last week in Sydney, Australia.

Young Vietnamese pianist Luu Hong Quang beat out 30 other contenders to win first prize at the Chopin Piano Competition.

Meanwhile, his brother Luu Duc Anh surpassed 28 other contestants to take second place at the Classical Sonata Competition for students aged up to 18.

Quang was awarded third prize at the 19th Century Piano Competition in Australia and second prize at the Val Tidone International Music Competition in Italy in 2008.

Earlier in 2006, he won a special prize at the Frederick Chopin International Piano Competition in Japan and third prize at the Val Tidone International Music in Italy./.
