The second turbine of the Buon Tua Srah hydro-electric plant officially joined the national power grid after five days of trial operations on Dec. 21.

After five years of construction with a design capacity of 86 MW, the two-turbine power plant on Krongno River, the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, will generate an annual electricity output of over 750 million KWh.

In addition to power generation, the new plant will help regulate the water flow to ensure smooth operation for downstream hydro-electric power plants such as Buon Kuop, Se Re Poc 3, Se Re Poc 4 during dry periods and reduce the risk of floods in lower areas./.
