Hanoi (VNA) - Burkina Faso officially recognised Vietnam’s market economy status in a diplomatic note of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 13.

This is the result of efforts made by the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco, which has made contacts with Burkina Faso’s Embassy in Morocco and had discussions with Burkina Faso officials.

During his trip to Burkina Faso to present his credentials in October, Vietnamese Ambassador to Morocco and Burkina Faso Pham Truong Giang, also pushed the issue at his meetings with Burkina Faso President Michel Kafando, Prime Minister Isaac Zida, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Agriculture.

Earlier, Morocco, Benin and Cote d’Ivoire recognised Vietnam’s market economy status.-VNA
