The country’s southernmost province of Ca Mau held a ceremony on October 5 to receive gifts of coral and trees from the Naval High Command and people living on the Truong Sa ( Spratly Islands ) Archipelago.

The gifts included 10 tropical almond trees and 21 pieces of coral taken from islands around the archipelago, which symbolise the nation’s sovereignty over its seas and islands as well as the will of the troops and people living on the Truong Sa Archipelago.

The gifts also underlined the close ties between the people and military personnel stationed on the archipelago and the people and authorities in Ca Mau./.
