The southernmost province of Ca Mau earned 185.46 million USD from its export in the first two month of this year, equivalent to 15.56 percent of the yearly plan, and up 97.53 percent year-on-year.

The revenue was mainly contributed by aquatic products with 173.53 million USD, followed by nitrate with 10.55 million USD and farm produce (1.38 million USD).

According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, aquatic products are still among key exports shipped to the province’s main importers such as the US, Japan and the EU that demand quality standards and food hygiene and safety.

Thus, it is vital to tighten the control of the quality of input materials for aquatic exports, the department said.

The province is taking various measures to bring its export turnover to 1.1 billion USD this year.-VNA
