Cambodia ’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng and visiting Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop have lauded the good cooperation between the two countries in fighting against cross border crimes, AKP news agency reported on February 24.

During their meeting in Phnom Penh on February 22, both sides also appreciated the two countries' relations, especially in the fields of diplomacy and economic development, the Cambodian news agency added.

Cambodia is a key country which has actively combating drug trafficking as well as human trafficking, Bishop was quoted as saying.

For his part, Sar Kheng expressed profound thanks to Australia for its assistance to Cambodian National Police in terms of both human resource training and drug detection equipment provision.

Bishop arrived in Phnom Penh on February 21 for a visit to further promote bilateral ties and cooperation between Australia and Cambodia. /.
