As farming season is approaching, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) shows its optimism for gradually better living conditions for some 270,000 Cambodian families benefiting from its interventions since a decade ago.

According to Cambodia's news agency AKP, in contribution to the improvement of Cambodia’s agricultural sector, Japan’s grant of about 75 million USD through JICA has been focusing on the western and southern part of the country.

Irrigation systems have been rehabilitated and constructed and a new rice intensification approach has been introduced to farmers in the two corners of Cambodia, considered to be the most potential.

Japan’s assistance to Cambodia is seen to align very well to the country’s development priorities, wherein agriculture is in the top.-VNA
