The Cambodian Armed Forces, on Nov. 17, held anti-terrorism manoeuvres in the port city of Sihanoukville, in Preah Sihanouk province, about 230 km south of Phnom Penh.

Named the “ASEAN-Japan sea security exercise”, the mock-up and field drill aims to prevent and respond to sabotage activities such as fires at sea ports, explosives, forcible entry into the port area, as well as rescue activities should terrorist acts take place.

Military attachés from Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, the US and France attended the exercise as observers.

The exercise, with assistance from the overseas marine development institute and sea development fund of Japan, will end on Nov. 18./.
