The Secretary of State at Cambodia ’s Defence Ministry, Moeung Samphan said that the establishment of the SCND aims at protecting the country’s Constitution, national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as ensuring the implementation of roles, duties and obligations of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
The council will supervise and decide national defence policies, he added.
The SCND will be chaired by King Norodom Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Sen will be its vice chairman.-VNA
