Cambodia exported 335,925 tonnes of rice in the first 11 months of 2014, up from 332,009 tonne shipped in the same period last year, Reuters quoted a report of the Secretariat of One Window Service for Rice Export Formality (SOWS-REF) as saying.

In November alone, the country shipped 31,137 tonnes, including 16,862 tonnes of Phkarumduol rice.

During the reviewed period, France imported the largest volume of rice from Cambodia with 61,967 tonnes, followed by Poland (53,152 tonnes), Malaysia (39,222 tonnes), China (30,646 tonnes) and the Netherlands (30,044 tonnes).

Kim Savuth, Vice President of the Federation of Cambodian Rice Exporters, said the country saw a slight increase in rice exports in the 11 months due to tough competitions with other countries such as Vietnam and Thailand.-VNA
