The 7th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting and the ASEAN+3 Ministerial Meeting on transnational crime were held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on Nov. 17.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen opened the meetings, stressing that the development of each country in the region is closely connected with peace and security in the entire region.

Transnational crime control is the common obligation of all regional countries, PM Hun Sen said, while urging more cooperation among those countries to this end.
The PM said that the event took place at a fitting time, while Southeast Asian nations are facing challenges and acknowledging the adverse impacts of transnational crime on social progress and development.
The forums, over two days, bring together ministers of security and criminal affairs from the ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and their three dialogue partners--China, the Republic of Korea and Japan.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Le The Tiem.
