Cambodia: Hun Sen to be PM candidate next term
The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) announced that Hun Sen
remains the prime minister and will continue to be the party’s candidate
for prime minister for the next term.

The announcement was made following a special party congress held on June 21.
Prime Minister Hun Sen was elected as President of the CPP on June 20 at the 38th Central Committee Conference, replacing Chea Sim who passed away on June 8.
Say Chhum and Sar Kheng were elected vice presidents of the CPP.
Additionally, the images of Hun Sen and Heng Samrin-Chairman of the country’s National Assembly- will appear in new CPP signs, replacing images of Chea Sim, Hun Sen and Heng Samrin, said CPP spokesman Sok Eysan.-VNA
