A senior Cambodian official has voiced his desire to boost agricultural cooperation with the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, especially in fruit farming.

Tien Giang has 70,000 ha grown with various fruit trees which give a total annual output of nearly 1 million tonnes.

Working with the provincial officials in Tien Giang on July 29, Cambodian Minister of State for Planning Hou Taing Eng said he believes Cambodia and Vietnam, including Cambodian localities and Tien Giang in particular, will foster closer friendships and solidarity.

During his working visit from July 27 - August 2, Hou Taing Eng will work with the provincial Department of Planning and Investment and Department of Statistics learn about provincial-level planning for application in Cambodian localities.-VNA
