Phnom Penh (VNA) - One worker was killed and four others were seriously injured on early September 16 when a slab of an under-construction building collapsed on them in Siem Reap province, northwestern Cambodia.

The accident happened when the workers were sleeping in the under-construction building near Pub street in Siem Reap town, said the National Police.

According to police, inappropriate construction techniques were blamed for the collapse. The contractor was questioned and held responsible for the accident.

It was the second accident in work site within two weeks. Last week, four workers were killed after elevator cables snapped and the elevator they were in fell from the sixth floor of an under-construction 12-storey building in the western province of Pailin.-VNA
