Cambodia's Health Ministry has reported two new cases of H5N1-strain avian influenza, bringing the national total this year to 26.
Of the two cases, a 29-year-old man from Pailin province died after being admitted to hospital.
The other patient is a 3-year-old boy from Kompong Speu province. His health is now in good condition after being given Tamiflu.
Cambodia has reported 45 cases of H5N1 flu, including 32 deaths, since the disease came to prominence in the country in 2003.
Avian influenza H5N1 remains a serious threat to the health of all Cambodians and more so for children, who seem to be most vulnerable and are at high risk, Health Minister Mom Bun Heng said.
The ministry has warned parents to teach their children about personal hygiene and has asked people in outbreak areas to clean their environment to prevent the spread of H5N1 virus from dead poultry.-VNA
