Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced the suspension of activities at the country’s border gates with Vietnam following complex developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a letter sent to the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia on March 18, the ministry said Vietnamese citizens’ entry into Cambodia and Cambodian citizens’ entry into Vietnam by road, water or air will be suspended as from 11:59pm of March 20.

The measure is designed to prevent any inconvenience caused by quarantine requirements for citizens of both countries, according to the Cambodian ministry./.
