Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his Thai counterpart, Prayuth Chan-ocha, co-chaired the third joint Cabinet meeting in Phnom Penh on September 7.

After the meeting themed strengthening partnership for peace and prosperity, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a joint statement of a meeting between the two countries’ foreign ministers and a bilateral agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income tax by Cambodia’s economic and finance minister and the Thai foreign minister.

Addressing the joint press conference after the signing ceremony, PM Hun Sen said the two sides discussed efforts to fight drug crime and human trafficking, in which the Thai side agreed to help Cambodia build a drug detoxification centre in Preah Sihanouk province.

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth said his country will increase the import of Cambodia’s farm produce in the coming time. The two sides agreed to build a railway connecting the two countries’ capital cities.

Before ending his one-day visit to Cambodia on September 7, the Thai PM paid a courtesy visit to Acting Head of State and President of the Senate Say Chhum.
