Prime Minister Hun Sen affirmed the significance of the Cambodian Victory Day (January 7), marking the ousting of the Khmer Rouge regime in 1979.

On the occasion of the 31st Victory Day anniversary, PM Hun Sen warned critics not to oppose the celebration as a political scheme.

The January 7 Victory Day is an important historical event of the Cambodian people and should be marked every year, he said, adding that the victory paved the way to the Paris Peace Accords on October, 23, 1991.

As planned, a mass meeting of 10,000 people will be held in Phnom Penh to mark the important event of Cambodia./.
