A senior official from the Cambodian Senate has expressed the wish to further increase cooperation between Vietnamese and Cambodian legislative bodies, which will help tighten the two countries’ special relationship.

Visiting Chairwoman of the Cambodian Senate’s Committee for heath, social affairs, war veterans, youth, labour, vocational training and women Mean Som An made the remarks during a meeting with Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong in Hanoi on March 24.

The host suggested both sides enhance delegation exchanges and experience sharing as well as actively promote the sound traditional ties between the two countries among the young generations.

Earlier, Mean Som An held talks with Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Social Affairs Truong Thi Mai in Hanoi, during which both sides agreed to increase their work together in the field.

They agreed that cooperation activities between the two committees have helped deepen the two nations’ long-standing and comprehensive relations.

The host and guest shared difficulties and advantages in the realm, specifically gender equality, health insurance, and ways to increase the number of women in parliament.

They also spent time exchanging experiences in realising the millennium development goals.-VNA
