Kien Giang (VNA) – A Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) delegation on February 24 toured Phu Quoc island district in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang as part of their friendly visit to Vietnam.
They visited Bai Vong-Phu Quoc Harbour City Complex in Bai Vong hamlet, Ham Ninh commune, which covers a total area of 142.31 ha with total initial funding of 2.5 trillion VND (107 million USD).
The project includes seaports and logistics, property, entertainment areas, restaurants-hotels and commercial centres.
The delegation also explored how fish sauce and pearl, specialties of Phu Quoc, are produced, and made a fact-finding trip to a pepper farm in combination with eco-tourism in Suoi Da hamlet, Duong To commune.
After Phu Quoc, the Cambodian delegates are scheduled to visit Ha Tien city on February 26, which is also the last stop of their Vietnam trip.-VNA
