Vinh Long (VNA) – Officials from the Cambodian province of Kampong Speu extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to the administration and people of Vinh Long while visiting the southwestern province on January 18.

Tim Savat, Deputy Governor of Kampong Speu, wished the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people a happy new year while speaking highly of local accomplishments last year.

She thanked Vinh Long for its material and spiritual support to and socio-economic development experience it shared with her province, noting that she hopes the bilateral solidarity and friendship will be even stronger in the future.

For his part, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long People’s Committee Tran Hoang Tuu said Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighbours with special solidarity and amity which have been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

He said he also wants the two provinces’ cooperation to be tightened for the sake of their local and national prosperity.

He suggested bilateral ties be expanded to many more spheres so as to boost their respective provinces’ socio-economic development.-VNA
