The aid, aimed at helping locals enrich their storm-damaged crop fields, was valued at 2.7 billion VND. The funding came from the Ireland Agency for International Development.

The Canadian not-for-profit organisation also provided victims in the same district with farm tools and seedlings of short-term crops such as maize to help them produce a harvest in just three months.

Aid included fertilisers and technical assistance to help increase crop yields and economic returns while storm-hit areas recover from the natural disaster.

CECI also covered the repair costs for five school locations and two small irrigation projects./.
