A delegation from the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with Catholics paid a pre-Tet visit to the Commission for Mass Mobilisation of the Party Central Committee in Hanoi on January 9.

The Vice President and Secretary General of the Committee, priest Tran Xuan Manh extended New Year wishes to leaders of the Party, State and the commission and vowed to continue directing Catholic followers to unite with people nationwide to develop the country.

Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Commission for Mass Mobilisation affirmed that Vietnam’s Catholic followers made important contributions to the national development and actively participated in the programme to build new-style rural areas in 2013.

She said she hopes the Committee continues to gather Catholic dignitaries and followers’ opinions contributing to making the country prosper.

On the occasion, Khiet also extended New Year greetings to Catholic dignitaries and followers nationwide.-VNA
