The Executive director of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) Simon Blair said his bank always considers Vietnam as one of its key markets in Asia and hopes for a long-term presence in the country.

The director made the statement at a meeting with Deputy Governor of the Vietnam’s State Bank, Nguyen Van Binh in Hanoi on August 19. Blair spoke highly of the Vietnamese government and the State Bank’s solutions in overcoming the impacts from the global economic crisis.

He also expressed his belief that the CBA will reap success in Vietnam with its experiences and strength.

CBA is one of the leading financial corporations in Australian and also the largest retail bank in the country, providing a wide range of services such as banking, insurance, pension saving, funds management and investment.

CBA has its rep. office in Hanoi and a branch in Ho Chi Minh City. According to the bank’s latest financial report, its after-tax profit reached about 4.7 billion AUD (4 billion USD)./.
