Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh called on Dak Lak province in particular and other Central Highlands provinces in general to try their best to turn themselves into the country’s dynamic economic region at a working session with the provincial authorities on Dec. 9.

During his working with the provincial Party Committee, General Secretary Manh emphasised the strategic position and important role of the Central Highlands in the cause of the national construction and defence. He also dealt with the significance to ensure long-term and sustainable development for the Central Highlands.

The Party leader spoke highly of achievements obtained by Dak Lak over the past few years, especially the province’s socio-economic, educational, healthcare and cultural development, poverty reduction and hunger alleviation and its infrastructure improvement.

He also said that the province should bring into full play its strength to the development of industrial crops of coffee, rubber and livestock breeding.

Further efforts are needed to boost the processing industry and service to raise the value of products and boost local people’s income, Manh added.

The province’s annual GDP growth rate stands at 12.17 percent after four years of the implementation of the 10 th National Party Congress’ Resolution. The province is expected to rake in over 2.6 billion USD in export revenue this year.

Dak Lak is investing in some projects on cassava processing and rubber plantation in Laos and Cambodia./.
