The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak held a solemn memorial service on June 3 to re-bury nine sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists, which were repatriated from Cambodia.

Of the remains, only three sets were identified as Trinh Dinh Ton (born in the central province of Ha Tinh and died in 1966), Vu Van Hoa (born in the northern province of Thai Binh and died in 1983) and Nguyen Van Thang (born in the northern province of Ha Tay and died in 1975).

Major Bui Quang Thanh, head of the Dak Lak Military Command’s K51 team, said that since 2001, his team has found and brought back to Vietnam the remains of 526 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists who were killed on the battlefield in Cambodia./.
