This is theproject’s first event, jointly held by Vietnam’s Ministry ofConstruction, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), theCollege of Urban Construction under the central region TrainingCentre for Water Supplies and the Thua Thien-Hue Construction and WaterSupply Company.
At the two-day workshop, thoseattending heard about the project’s operations, a management model usedby Japan’s Yokohama Waterworks Bureau as well as proposals from theWorld Health Organisation and the Vietnam Water Supply and SewerageAssociation.
The project will help central provincesto improve people’s access to fresh water and develop the workforcefor the region’s water supply companies.
It will be carried out from 2010-2013 using more than 3.3 million USD of non-refundable aid from the Japanese Government./.
