The Vietnamese Embassy in China held a ceremony to celebrate the 120 th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday in Beijing on May 18.

Addressing the function, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Van Tho said this was a chance for the Vietnamese officials who are working in China to commemorate the late President and show him their gratitude. He was a great leader for the Vietnamese Party and nation, a hero of national liberation and a world-acclaimed cultural celebrity.

“The name and career of President Ho Chi Minh will live forever in Vietnam and its people,” he said, adding that “he has left us a highly valuable heritage, including Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts and his moral example”.

Later the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and the Vietnamese Mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) also held a ceremony to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday as well as giving a talk on his thoughts and moral example.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Nguyen Huu Dung reviewed Uncle Ho’s life and his great contributions to the Vietnamese nation and the revolutionary movements across the world.

The ambassador took the occasion to launch a new campaign focusing on implementing Ho Chi Minh thoughts and the Party and State’s foreign policy as well as following the President’s moral example in fulfilling all assigned tasks.

On the occasion, a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy along with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Singapore , led by Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, laid a wreath at the Memorial to President Ho Chi Minh in Singapore./.
