Children evaluate child rights implementation

Nearly 200 children from the central province of Quang Nam evaluated the implementation of children’s rights at a forum held on June 30.
Nearly 200 children from the central province of Quang Namevaluated the implementation of children’s rights at a forum held onJune 30.

The forum created a good chance for localchildren to express their ideas and aspirations for the right to study,play and join sport-culture-art activities as well as the right toaccess social information and receive care, respect and protection.

Student Nguyen Ha Dieu Loan said the forum enabled children to betterunderstand the rights of Vietnamese children stipulated in internationalconventions.

Vice Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee Le Van Thanh said local authorities cleared up anumber questions regarding domestic violence, drug use among childrenand child malnutrition.

Leaders from the provincialPeople’s Committee and other department and sectors also put forthmeasures to more effectively implement the fundamental rights ofchildren.

The province has built a number of modelsto support children from disadvantaged backgrounds or those affected byHIV/AIDS, other diseases and violence.-VNA

Nguyen Van Dai investigated for anti-State propaganda

Government pushes stronger data integration to tighten IUU fishing controls

According to the MAE, as of November 15, a total of 79,360 fishing vessels nationwide had been registered and updated in the national fisheries database (VNFishbase), reaching 100%. The number of licensed vessels stands at 76,811. Vessels found ineligible for operation have been placed under local supervision, with commune- and ward-level authorities assigned to manage their mooring.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang underlined NDN’s long-standing and close attachment to Vietnam, noting that it was among the first foreign media organisations to establish a resident office in the country. During the difficult years of the struggle for independence in the 1960s, NDN was the only foreign media agency operating in North Vietnam.

Prime Minister orders swift remediation of deadly landslide in Khanh Hoa

Soil and rocks from the uphill slope spilled onto the road surface, striking a coach carrying 32 people, including 29 passengers, two drivers and one coach assistant. At least six people were killed, while 19 others were injured and have been taken to the Khanh Hoa General Hospital for treatment.
