More than 400 children between the ages of 6 and 15 in the island district of Bach Long Vy in the port city of Hai Phong received free health examinations on June 22.

They were also provided with consultations, medicines and treatment at the hospital.

The annual programme, launched in 2013, was co-organised by the Bach Long Vy district General Hospital , the Hai Phong Children’s Hospital and the district’s Communist Youth Union.

It is part of efforts by the municipal Department of Health and local authorities to protect and improve child health on the island and in border areas.

Training sessions were conducted by experts from the Hai Phong Children’s Hospital to build staff capacity.

The Hai Phong Children’s Hospital also provided a number of necessary treatment equipment for the district hospital to improve service quality.-VNA
