The Party, Government and people of China always esteem the development of relations
with neighbouring countries, particularly its traditional cooperation and
friendship with Vietnam,
said a Chinese senior official.
Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s
Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, He Guoqiang held a meeting in Beijing on July 17 with a Vietnamese delegation led
by Nguyen Van Chi, Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s
Inspection Commission.
He recalled that during the China visit in May 2008 by Vietnamese Party Chief
Nong Duc Manh, the two sides agreed to build a “comprehensive strategic
cooperation partnership” under the guidance of a 16 word principle and the
‘four-good spirits’.
The two sides also completed demarcation of
their shared land border late last year in line with the agreement between the
two countries’ leaders, he said.
The Chinese official expressed his belief
that this should serve as a model in solving remaining issues, whether they are
left-over from history or newly-arisen.
Development of Sino-Vietnamese ties would
create favourable conditions for each country’s development, thus contributing
to building peace, stability and development in the region, he said.
For his part, Nguyen Van Chi emphasised the
continuously developing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China in
recent years, affirming that the party, government and people of Vietnam with
work together with China to foster their partnership in all-around strategic
cooperation based on the 16-word principle and the ‘four-good spirit’ as set
down by the two sides’ leaders.
Also on the same day, the Vietnamese delegation held talks with its
counterpart mission.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual
concern and shared experiences in inspection and discipline within the two
parties, as well as cooperation between inspection agencies of the party and
the government.
While in
China from July 12-18, the Vietnamese delegation
visited several provinces./.
