China helps flood victims

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on September 14 sent condolences to his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh, over heavy losses of both human lives and property caused by recent floods in several central provinces.

On the same day, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou also presented 10,000 USD to the Vietnam Red Cross, as a relief aid for the flood victims.

Chairman of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee Nguyen Hai Duong thanked the Chinese friends for the gift.

Heavy rains and floods from Ninh Binh to Ha Tinh provinces earlier this month claimed 16 lives and 38 others were wounded.-VNA
