Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has vowed to further consultations and coordination with Cambodia on regional and international affairs at the United Nations, the East Asian Cooperation and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

At a reception for President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin in Beijing on Dec. 6, Xi underlined that the close contact and cooperation between China and Cambodia at the East Asia Summit last month has contributed to the success of the event.

Hailing the traditional friendship and expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, culture and education, Xi said that China attaches importance to the relationship with Cambodia and will continue deepening bilateral cooperation for common prosperity.

Heng Samrin said that he values China's long-term assistance to Cambodia and affirmed that Cambodia will learn from China's experience in economic development and improving the people's lives.

He underlined that Cambodia will strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of investment, tourism and the fight against terrorism and cross-border crimes.

Cambodian National Assembly will make positive contributions to developing bilateral ties, Samrin asserted./.
