Defence Minister Phung Quang Thanh received a delegation from the General Staff of China’s People’s Liberation Army in Hanoi on May 17.
General Thanh welcomed the visit by the delegation, led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Ma Xiaotian, saying that it would contribute to strengthening the friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding between the armies and peoples of both countries.
Ma Xiaotian said he believed that his current visit would help to instill a respect and trust between the two armies.
The Chinese delegation will attend the ASEAN Security Policy Conference (ASPC)./.
