Hanoi (VNA) – China’s opening of a consulate general in Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang aims to step up economic and trade cooperation and friendship exchanges between its localities and Vietnamese peers in the central region.

Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Le Hai Binh made that statement at the ministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi on August 4.

He added that the Chinese consulate general will also work with Vietnamese relevant agencies to tackle consular issues between the two countries.

At present, some countries have opened their consulates general in Da Nang city, the diplomat added.-VNA
