Vietnamese and Chinese entrepreneurs signed 10 trade contracts and cooperation agreements worth a combined 427.5 million USD at an exhibition and trade fair that opened in Hanoi on October 19.

Most of the newly-signed contracts at the exhibition, which feature products made by companies from Zhongshan city in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, focus on the fields of construction, frozen foods, footwear and energy.

Noteworthy among the contracts is a 230 million USD project to build a concrete production line signed by Vietnam’s Song Da Company and Zhongshan city’s Jian Hua Group, as well as a project on frozen foods worth 60 million USD inked by Vietnam’s Frozen Technology and Electronics Company and Zhongshan city’s Ge Lan Shi Electricity Home Appliance Co., Ltd.

Addressing the exhibition, Zhongshan Vice Mayor Han Zhe Sheng praised Vietnam’s investment environment and its development potential, saying that “Vietnam is always a major trade and economic partner for investors from Zhongshan”.

She added that the exhibition is Zhongshan’s largest-ever held abroad, describing the event as a great opportunity for Zhongshan’s businesses to boost their investment and cooperation with Vietnam in the context of the global economic downturn.

The exhibition is expected to last till October 21. Over 100 large companies from Zhongshan city are attending the event, displaying over 1,000 products including home appliances, furniture, garments and textiles, food, soft drinks, equipment, recreational games and decorative lamps./.
