The church alsobegan its annual congress the same day.
Whenaddressing the opening ceremony, the Deputy Head of the GovernmentCommittee for Religious Affairs, Pham Huy Tho said that this was animportant milestone in the church’s history as now the church canpractice its religion in line with the Ordinance on Beliefs andReligions.
He said he hoped that the church wouldhelp to build the country into a modern and prosperous nation with ahappy and wealthy people.
Formed in 1989, theChristian Fellowship Church of Vietnam is the seventh Protestantorganisation to receive a certificate to practice its religion.
In September 2009, the church held its first congress,adopted its charter and elected its nine-member executive board, led byPastor Dinh Thien Tu./.
