City authorities visit Hanoi Buddhist Sangha

Khanh praised the dignataries, monks and nuns and followers for their contribution to the construction of the capital city and the nation over the recent time.

He called on the Hanoi Buddhist Sanghaa to continue working closely with local authorities and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Hanoi chapter, encouraging monks, nuns and followers to strictly abide by the law and policies of the Party and State and actively join in building the capital city more prosperous, civilised and beautiful.

The call is part of the whole nation’s campaign to celebrate the 1,000 th birthday anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem, Head of the Hanoi Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board, thanked the city authorities for their care to monks, nuns and Buddist followers on their great festive day.

To welcome the capital city’s 1,000 th birthday, the Hanoi Buddist Sangha has worked with the Vietnam Buddist Church on construction and upgrade of many historical relics.

The capital city will host a special ceremony on the night of May 28 or the 15th day of the 4 th lunar month to mark the Buddha’s 2554th birthday.

Also on the afternoon of May 19, a delegation of the VFF chapter in Hanoi visited the Hanoi Buddist Sangha./.
