The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has completed a scenario which will help ministries, sectors and localities to devise action plans on climate change.

According ministry experts, by the end of the 21st century, the nation’s temperature may rise 2.3 degrees Celsius compared the average for the 1980-1999 period. Localities will see increases of between 1.6-2.8 degrees Celsius depending on the region.

Winter temperatures will increase faster than those in summer. The total rainfall level for the rainy season and for the whole year will rise, but in the dry season it will fall, especially in the south, said experts.

They also said that the water level will rise an additional 30 cm in the mid-21st century and 75 cm by the end of the century compared with the 1980-1999 period./.
