Vietnam’s coffee export turnover is likely to exceed 2 billion USD in 2011 due to high prices, said the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) on April 21.

At present, Vietnamese coffee is sold at 2,430 USD per tonne in the Liffe market in London , the association said.

Between October 2010 and April 2011, the country shipped more than 600,000 tonnes of coffee, reaching an export turnover of 1.1 billion USD.

According to Vicofa, foreign coffee businesses have increased their purchase volume from 16 percent in 2009 to 50 percent currently./.
