Combatants’ remains found in An Giang

According to Colonel Pham Quang Trung, the commanding officer of unit K93, under An Giang Military Headquarters, almost all the remains are in fairly good condition and some personal effects were also preserved.

The second in command of K93, Sen. Lt. Colonel Le Van Thang, who was in direct charge of the search team, said that two sets of remains had been identified as Hoang Van Trang and Truong Cong Vinh, both from Yen My district of the former northern province of Hai Hung (now Hung Yen).

Earlier, K93 had been informed by local people of another 34 sets of remains in Luong Phi commune, Tri Ton district. They confirmed that the remains were all soldiers who belonged to Regiment Song Lam 101.

The 38 sets of remains will be repatriated on the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27./.
